Check The Charge With The CTEK Comfort Indicator
Posted: Tuesday 31 March, 2009
With as many as one in five of vehicles entering the workshop with a fault directly related to the state of the battery there has never been more of a need for garages to have the ability to check the state of every car battery as it enters the workshop - quickly.
CTEK, the world's leading innovator and supplier of lead acid battery chargers, has launched the Comfort Indicator, an accessory that provides a simple and immediate indication to the charge levels of the battery.
Using a simple ‘traffic light' system, the CTEK Comfort Indicator provides a simple, visual indication of the state of the battery.
The Comfort Indicator's flashing green LED reveals that the battery is fully charged and does not need attention whereas an orange flashing LED demands attention and indicates that battery charging is recommended to avoid stratification - a harmful process which reduces the life and efficiency of a battery. A red flashing LED indicates that a battery should be charged immediately, not only to be able to be sure of starting the vehicle but to avoid the danger of the battery being permanently damaged through excessive discharge leading to sulphation - the biggest battery killer.
The Comfort Indicator has been designed using the unique CTEK Comfort Connect system that allows it to be attached to the appropriate CTEK charger, enabling a direct charge to be delivered to the battery without removing it from the vehicle.
Peter White, Sales & Marketing Manager, UK & Ireland, CTEK, commented:
"With battery problems increasingly prevalent on all cars and particularly brand new ones, workshops require a quick and easy way to establish the state of the battery. A CTEK Comfort Indicator provides a perfect solution to this making it a vital addition to today's workshop."
With a SRP of £11.99 Inc. VAT the CTEK Comfort Indicator is available in the UK and Ireland through a network of distributors and stockists, details of which can be found via the CTEK website www.ctek.com or by calling 01380 722621
