Digital PR At The Heart Of Rural England

"Welcome to my first blog" - not a sentence I would have envisaged uttering a few years ago. You see, back then I was working in London, for a big Public Relations agency at the very heart of Media London - very cutting edge and all that. However, the thing is - it didn't seem that cutting edge at all. In fact, compared to the digital PR Punch regularly undertakes for its clients at the moment, it was all a bit pedestrian. What I didn't know was that I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I had mistakenly assumed that London was the epicentre of digital public relations - slicing through old media like a slicey thing on route to a bright and shiny digital future.
What I was to learn subsequently was that my future - and perhaps destiny, lay 85.3 miles north in Market Harborough, South Leicestershire dubbed "The Heart Of Rural England". That's kind of the beauty of the digital world really - location is irrelevant, its knowledge, technology and dedication that are the key drivers. We're regularly in London for meetings of course, but that's all of an hour on the train. It really is the best of both worlds - cutting edge digital PR campaigns and a view over the Welland Valley - currently populated by some very small baby rabbits and some keen eyed buzzards.
