Karacha.com calls for more fathers to play music with their children
A survey by Karacha.com has revealed that 71% of fathers feel that their child learning a musical instrument is important. More and more men are learning instruments alongside their children to maintain the bond that can suffer through working long hours and a stressful lifestyle and research has proven that without a close attachment to a father figure, children can become stressed, be less successful in school and have difficulty building and establishing lasting relationships.
The survey found that fathers place great importance on their child learning a musical instrument and recognise the benefits that it can bring. Adrian Kinchen is one such father. He bought his nine year old daughter a guitar for Christmas and the two have been playing together ever since. Adrian commented: -
"Music is essential to ensuring that our bond is as strong as possible. I've always enjoyed playing and making music and I'm really thrilled that Nadya now shares this with me. It's definitely helped us grow closer and I really think that it will continue as she grows older. It's nice to share something between just the two of us; we play together regularly and enjoy a very close relationship as a result of this."
With Father's Day just around the corner, Adam Ewart, Founder of Karacha.com is urging fathers across the UK to pick up an instrument: "Father's Day is almost upon us and to celebrate the occasion we are urging dads everywhere to make the most of the opportunity to spend some quality time with their children and undertake an activity together such as learning a musical instrument. It is also a great chance to take advantage of the stress busting benefits music can have on a busy and hectic lifestyle."
Cathy McCallum, an early music expert said: "Making music isn't just for children and it's a great way for parents to bond with their children. Parents are more and more readily recognising the benefits of music on their children but adults can benefit too, music is stress-relieving and can even be good cardio-vascular exercise if singing or playing a wind instrument."
