In Britain there are 10million households with a tumble dryer, each producing and average of 40kg of carbon every year - that's a massive 400,000 tonnes as a whole! If every electrically powered tumble dryer was replaced with a White Knight gas operated dryer, this figure could be cut to 200,000 tonnes, still a lot but a 50% decrease can only be a good thing.

However, according to a survey by White Knight, pioneers of the eco gas tumble dryer, 99% of the British public are unaware of the huge difference in cost between gas and electric, let alone the difference in carbon emissions.

The survey also revealed that 50% of Tumble Dyer owners feel they couldn't live without it and 64% of respondents feel that the Government should take a stronger role in the reduction of energy consumption.
