Fancy a 'Song Pop' Challenge?

There’s a new kid on the social gaming block called Song Pop. Available on mobile and on Facebook, Song Pop is a multiple-choice music quiz, similar to the old favourite game show ‘Name That Tune’. As a self-proclaimed music aficionado and former Rockstarhelper, I quickly signed up to become one of the two million users already participating in the musical challenges.
Song Pop is completely social - you can’t play on your own like earlier music quiz apps on Facebook. Once you have logged in, you must challenge other players to quizzes. These challenges can then be posted to your Facebook wall, sharing with your friends how much you know about certain music genres. I’m pretty savvy with pop music from the 80s, so I have challenged my sister to see if she can beat my score. When she accepts the challenge, she’ll be asked to answer the same questions and if answered correctly in less time than I did, she’ll be the winner. Each winner will receive three coins as a reward. Coins are collected and can be later used to purchase in-app upgrades, such as ‘Powerups’ or additional playlists. Users can also purchase coins with real money via PayPal or with Facebook credits.

It’s early days for the music quiz app, but it has quickly risen to be one of the most talked about social games. If you’re playing Song Pop, do you think you can beat me?
