Twitter is at it again! Earlier this year DJ Tiesto teamed up with Twitter, Intel and HP to showcase the Enhanced Profile Pages by live-streaming his performance from the Consumer Electronics Show. Now, singer-songwriter sensation Jason Mraz is using Twitter to crowdsource ideas for his next video featuring the single “The Woman I Love”, which will be shown on the social network before anywhere else. He posed the question “What does ‘The Woman I Love’ mean to you?” to his fans who could then Tweet their ideas to @jasonmraz using the hashtag #mrazingTheVideo.

Twitter is already brings fans closer to their favourite celebrities through online conversation, but this crowdsourcing project will allow them to be part of the creative process that usually takes place behind closed doors.  Album sales have seen a decline in the digital age, but when fans are part of the project, it gives them a reason to buy the album as they have a more personal connection.  Using social media, like Twitter, for innovative projects could potentially raise awareness for artists and help album sales, which will benefit the music industry and fans alike.

What ideas would you send in for Jason Mraz’s music video?
