Since we began working with Bossa Studios nearly a year ago, we have certainly had plenty to keep us busy. Firstly, we helped launch Monstermind, its b-movie monster-inspired real-time 'anti-social' game at Eurogamer 2011. At the same time the company joined the high-profile Shine Group.

What followed were a series of key developments in the news and at Bossa including the Studio's great achievement scooping a BAFTA for 'Best Online Browser Game' for Monstermind. Also, its viewpoints on the Budget's tax breaks for the gaming industry meant column inches were secured in key trade and national titles. Continual debates around the evolution of gaming and campaign updates to Monstermind also meant the spotlight was continually focused on the Bossa team.

Yesterday, we had even more exciting news to announce, and this time I have to admit, I am just a little more excited than is perhaps healthy. Well anyone who knows me knows I love a bit of magic as well as tales of myth and legend, so when you combine the two it's clear to see why I'm so excited – Bossa's second release is Merlin The Game!

The game will open in beta from autumn, in line with the season five launch of the hit BBC One show Merlin. From yesterday, Bossa Studios is inviting fans of the show and gamers to sign up to be in with a chance of playing the game in closed beta from July 12th.

There's been lots in the news about the game so far this week and it is has been nicely summarised in anumber of articles – check them out for yourself: SFX Merlin Mystery Solved and Digital Spy – 'Merlin: The Game' announced for Facebook.
