Google+ Opens Its Doors To The Masses

It’s safe to say I’ve been using Google+ a lot since the platform first launched, and like many other people my first thought was “why do I need another social media platform?” It seemed like more trouble than it was worth, starting a brand new profile on a service that no one I knew was using just didn’t seem like a great idea. That was my initial thought process, since then a lot has changed.
Google announced yesterday that the service is no longer invite only, and it is now in the public beta phase. This means anyone can join the service and from what I’ve seen so far I can honestly recommend that you do. It’s a platform that provides more than any other I’ve used in a long time - the conversations, the information being shared and the obvious attention to detail shown by Google is quite impressive.

The features, which are being updated all the time, provide such an intuitive way of sharing and absorbing information that it has pretty much become my go-to service for all the latest news of all types. It has become a Twitter substitute and a resource of constant interest and discovery. This is a platform that deserves to be relevant and adopted by the masses, as it has a lot to offer in terms of communication and interaction that seems slightly lacking in other services.
Google+ is still in its infancy and so far the early adopters have been key in making the service an interesting and exciting place to be and now that it is open to the public hopefully this trend will continue, but only time will tell.
In the mean time, sign up, spend some time, get to know the platform, try a Hangout, the chances are you’ll learn something new and connect with some very interesting and creative people along the way.
