The dashing duo is at it again and the World will be able to enjoy the exploits of Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson. BBC Worldwide Channels is bringing the team of sleuths to television screens across the globe as part of the London Calling season of special programming.

Sherlock shows the quintessential London character in a contemporary light with leading actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman playing the title roles with aplomb. Their compelling performances, along with a witty and fast-paced script, have helped the series win numerous BAFTA TV awards, including a recent BAFTA Special Award for co-creator Steven Moffat.

Developed by Hartswood Films along with Masterpiece for the BBC, Sherlock re-imagines Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic mysteries for today’s audience. The most infamous cases are treated with modern twists and turns as Sherlock and Dr Watson solve A Scandal in Belgravia, The Hound of the Baskerville, and The Reichenbach Fall. International viewers will be able to watch Holmes and Watson outwit nefarious villains and solve perplexing mysteries as Sherlock series 1 and 2 air during the unique London Calling season.

Aside from winning prestigious awards, the critical acclaim for the Sherlock series has been incredible. Viewed by more than nine million people when it was aired in the UK, the show was buzzing everywhere, from tweets around the World to the floor of the House of Commons. The Daily Express declared, “We are being truly spoilt with this… get ready for the ride of your life.” The Independent agreed, “Sherlock is a Rolls-Royce of a popular entertainment.”
