Is it Down or Uphill from Here?

Well it's finally happening; the first of my long time friends is turning 30 this weekend. Scary to think it was 15 years (half our lives) ago we were all huddled in my kitchen, donning leather jackets, shirts, chinos, our school shoes, more hair gel than Cristiano Ronaldo could fit in his penthouse bathroom and the old classic scent of Joop (it was cool back then - well, at least I think it was - I hope it was) ironing the laminate onto the fake IDs we bought off ‘me mate Dave' before we hit the bright lights of Hinckley for the first time.

Anyway, you'll be glad to hear things have changed slightly in the years since then, well, if nothing else at least our fashion sense has, and we're off out celebrating...all day...all day...oh dear.

Due to my new found passion in life, the gym, I haven't touched a drop of alcohol for almost 3 months now and I'm breaking the fast to support the festivity so, a quick note to Stuart Arms of Hinckley; Happy Birthday, have a great day but please don't make me keep up with you on the drinking stakes because I will be in A & E by 6.30 and I need to be back in a fit mental and physical state by Monday - I'm at the age now where hangovers tend to last two days.
