There's a new love in my life this week. I'm talking of course about the launch of the new BSkyB channel Sky Atlantic. After years of waiting and rumours mounting, HBO original programming has finally landed on our shores, bringing with it suitcases filled with some of the best pop culture of the last decade. With a back catalogue filled with some of the greatest fictional characters and television shows of all time, HBO brings with it gems such as Curb Your EnthusiasmThe SopranosBand of BrothersThe WireEntourage and now the excellent 1920s prohibition tale that is Boardwalk Empire. Having been a huge fan of all things HBO for many years now and after hearing nothing but good things about their latest show, I thought it only fair to put some time aside this weekend to catch up with the first four episodes of Boardwalk Empire and see if, yet again, HBO have rolled out another televised masterpiece. On first thoughts and just four and a half hours in to the first season it would certainly seem to be the case.

Being the social media geek that I am, I quickly headed out into the world of all things social (Facebook) to see if there was any additional content available. Interesting there's a fantastic Boardwalk Empire Facebook page filled with a huge variety of bonus features such as behind-the-scenes interviews, making-of documentaries, character features and articles. In addition to this, if you really want to squeeze as much as possible from the new Boardwalk Empire show you can even check-in to the show via the fantastic Get Glue app. An app I keep going back to, Get Glue enables users to check-in to entertainment and activities such as checking-in to TV shows, video games and movies. Through the app, users are able to unlock customised stickers and badges presenting them with access to exclusive Boardwalk Empire content and promotional codes, as well as share their latest insights and reviews across all of their social media profiles. All in all I think it's safe to say that I'll be spending a lot of my time caught in the 1920s again this weekend.
