It’s no secret that I love check in apps, collecting badges, stickers and the like. It appeals to my fond memories of collecting stickers as a kid. Plus I get to post on Twitter and Facebook about the places I have been, even if it is only checking in at my local grocery store.
Check in application, Foursquare, recently enabled a function that allows businesses to claim their venue. Although Punch Communications has been a Foursquare “check in location” since before I joined the team, we have claimed it as an official venue. To celebrate the occasion, I’ve challenged my co-workers to see who can become “Mayor of Punch” first.
Today has been a banner day in my world of checking in. After my trip to the local Starbucks, I was awarded the “Adventurer” badge. Then after checking in at Punch Communications, not only did I receive the “Local” badge for checking in to the same place three times in one week, I have also become Mayor at Punch Communications! Let’s see how long I can stay in “office”.
