Most engaged brand on Facebook

Today is an especially good day at Punch – the sort of day when we get to feast (momentarily of course) on the fruits of our collective labours. We have always felt privileged to work with such an incredible brand as Sony Ericsson and that is reflected in the blood, sweat and tears that we invest in every aspect of the social media campaign. What, to the casual observer may appear a few simple Facebook posts or a cool competition are actually the result of hours of research, testing, analysing, editing, tweaking, and perfecting.

We’ve passed a number of milestones on the way, reaching our first million fans, catching and passing Nokia en route to 3 million fans, catching and passing iPhone en route to 5 million fans and being recognised as one of the fastest growing brands on Facebook. And, to cap it all is the news today from one of the leading authorities on Facebook performance and statistics that during September of this year Sony Ericsson was the #1 leading brand on Facebook for fan engagement http://www.allfacebook.com/facebook-engaging-brands-2011-10

It’s not about pats on the back. It’s about how we take this forward. With the announcements by Mark Zuckerberg at the F8 conference only a couple of weeks ago, and the shake-up in Facebook display and functionality which all users (brands and consumers alike) are going to have to adapt to, this news shows that we and Sony Ericsson are in pole position. Naturally we’re working just as hard to ensure we stay there, but we might just allow ourselves an extra biscuit with our afternoon tea today.
