Yesterday, I went to the 3rd annual Mumpreneur Conference hosted by MumpreneurUK.  This was a great networking event for mums (and dads) who run their own businesses as well as balancing childcare and home lives.  Being a mum/dadpreneur allows parents to create flexible working hours so that they can fit everything in (or at least try to), as well as have an income.

Most mumpreneur businesses are online based, making one of our clients, 123-reg - the UK’s biggest domain names registrar, an ideal sponsor for the ‘Best Supporting Business’ award.  Tim, blog editor from 123-reg, hosted a seminar called: www.thatsoundslikeagreatbusinessbuttheirinternetaddressisjusttoolongandcomplicated.com highlighting the importance of choosing a domain URL that makes sense and is relevant to the business. This will help the general public find the business and ultimately increase the chance of sales and revenue.

To wrap up the conference, the Mumpreneur 2011 Award winners were announced.  Each sponsor presented the award to the winners in their respective category, and the award for ‘Best Supporting Business’ went to Suzanne Dibble of Lawyers 4 Mumpreneurs. Congratulations to Suzanne and all of the Mumpreneur 2011 Award winners.

There were many attendees updating from the event on Twitter, so if you weren’t able to attend, just follow the hashtag #mumpreneur11.
