On The Move

I've been back a fortnight and have barely caught my breath. Firstly Phil's been away for six days (back Monday) in France and hence this week we have, as Ben very eloquently put it, been a man down. On arrival back from holiday, the team had decided in my absence that we wanted to move offices - and so it required only the small matter of my agreement and some ‘gentle' negotiation with the estate agent for us to have decided, by about 2pm on the Monday afternoon that we're now moving - in just three weeks time.

Consequently, Alice is up to her eyes in colourful spreadsheets and schedules and Ben's been on-site this morning, not only to see the place for the first time but to meet the phone installers and alarm installers to figure out their requirements. Abbie knows more about desks, boardroom tables and storage units than is normal for one person and Kath's been orchestrating the vital phone switch over given the famed reliability of everyone's favourite service provider: BT. And my head is spinning with how fast it's all moving.

So, our move-in date is Friday 25th July, following which we're going to be in new, stand-alone offices which are 50% larger than our present offices, with terrific boardroom and additional meeting facilities in an amazingly calming rural surrounding.

The girls are currently lobbying hard for a party on the first night, whilst Ben's just asked for a couple of beers to keep him going whilst he puts tables together. Given that we've got a hectic few weeks ahead I think a celebration of some kind is definitely in order.

Oh and did I mention we had virtually a full page on the Punch team in The Telegraph yesterday, which was all arranged and orchestrated by our very own PK.
