Outplacement Plus Scheme Offers a Parachute Out of Redundancy, Reports Schneider

With an increase in redundancies in the financial sector as well as a heightened expectancy for firms to maintain a ‘fair employer’ reputation, businesses can now assist workers they are forced to lay-off through  Schneider Trading Associates’ (STA) Outplacement Plus, a post-employment benefit.

The scheme, which reduces the barriers for financial sector professionals to become a trader, is a new concept in post-employment benefit, offering an alternative to a training grant, which traditionally supports individuals’ move onto a new career path. Outplacement Plus assists those being made redundant to avoid a period of unemployment, whilst it also supports a brand’s reputation. Schneider has been training traders for over 12 years

It combines a four-week trader training programme with the safety net of integrated outplacement support; if the course is successfully completed, the candidate will be offered a position with STA as a self-employed trader and will receive three more years of training and mentorship. Those who decide a role in trading is not for them or don’t pass assessments will be given outplacement support to identify and plan their next career step.

Matt Silvester, head of training at STA, said: “Outplacement Plus isbeneficial to those employees being made redundant and also to the employer; it is a different offering to a more traditional training grant and as Schneider has been delivering training to those who want to enter a career in training for over 12 years, it is extremely well placed to offer the scheme. It’s vocational and starts with the very basics, so we’re reducing the barriers to entry into what can be a difficult career to break into. Of course, if the candidate doesn’t pass or decides it’s not the right career for them, then further support is given to help them plan their next step.”
