PR Account Executive: Role Overview

  • Media relations – Expected to pitch press releases and features to journalists to gain coverage for Punch clients. This will assist the executive in developing press relationships to use in the future.
  • Writing – Account executives will write press and SEO releases. Employees will be expected to be capable of writing to a high standard, for Punch and its clients.  A high standard of grammar and punctuation is also essential.
  • Team working – Account Executives are an important part of the Punch team and are required to assist the account managers and account directors as necessary. Account executives must understand the importance of aligning training needs with strategic goals of the business.
  • Client service – Account executives may be expected to conduct a small amount of client contact through email, although this will mainly be handled to account managers and directors.
  • Business development – Assist the team with research to ensure that Punch is capable of securing new business.  Also keeping up-to-date with latest news and information, or specific research when required.
  • Creativity – Expected to participate in creative meetings, inputting ideas. Required to find exciting ways of communicating stories and messages.
