Punch Film Review

After having a brief chat with some of the Punch team on Wednesday we realised that a number of us had planned to have a trip to the cinema that evening – all to see different films. Holly and I opted for Black Swan, the new ballet-themed psychological thriller starring Natalie Portman. Ben went to see Morning Glory, a comedy about a morning television show starring Harrison Ford, while Georgina’s choice was The Kings Speech, the Oscar-tipped regal drama starring Colin Firth.

The following day I asked the cinema goers what they all thought of the films they went to see and below is what they had to say:

Morning Glory by Ben – “It was a bit slow to start with but had a very uplifting and heartfelt ending. To sum the film up it is about a woman who takes over as an exec-producer of a failing show and turns it round to be the best show ever covering all the trials and tribulations in-between. It was a nice easy watch.”

The Kings Speech by Georgina – “The Kings Speech was an amazing film and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Colin Firth gave a brilliant performance as King George VI as he battles to overcome a stammer. I would highly recommend seeing this film and I am already planning on seeing it again myself.”

Black Swan by Holly – “The film focuses upon a ballerina who strives to bring out her dark side in a bid to win the lead role as the Swan Queen. This really is Natalie Portman’s best performance to date and the film was gripping from start to finish.”

All in all everyone had thoroughly enjoyable trips to the cinema, and the best part of my night? Getting a travelling bonus on Foursquare for checking in to Cineworld as well as Punch!
