With Euro 2008 due to kick off on Saturday, the excitement from within Market Harborough public relations circles is palpable. The Punch team have finally pinned their colours to the mast, put their money where their mouth is and all sorts of other commitment based cliches. With England spectacularly failing to qualify, your author is once again playing the role of martyr, having chosen perennial underachievers Spain, a sure bet never to make it out of the group stages. Katharine has chosen the land of her fathers - Russia, Ben has opted for England slayers Croatia, Pete inspired by a misspent youth in Amsterdam, has gone for Holland, Mrs Goold is backing France, Abbie has randomly, and with an obvious disinterest plumped for Portugal whilst Alice has unashamedly gone for Italy for obvious handsome related reasons.
