Punch To Test Stamina For Marie Curie Cancer

Posted: Monday 19 March, 2007

Punch Communications MD Pete Goold will be participating in the nationwide Swimathon to raise funds for the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity on 22nd March 2007.

The swimathon caters for different levels of competence and participants are encouraged to aim for 1.5km, 2.5km or to 5km (typically 200 lengths). Last year Pete targeted and achieved 2.5km in just under an hour. This year, Pete has opted to attempt a distance swim of between three and five kilometres, with many sponsors driving him to reach the full distance with a tiered sponsorship structure.

In advance of the event, Pete commented:
"With such major events as Comic Relief capturing the national attention, many people will understandably be experiencing compassion fatigue. However, many of our contacts have already been most generous in lending their support for the event."

In addition to collecting funds directly, Pete has launched a simple page where sponsors can pledge funds to be paid directly to the charity at: http://www.justgiving.com/petegoold.
