Six Degrees of Dr Seuss

I have a very special place in my heart for Dr Seuss. I spent hours of my childhood reading his books, with the rhymes and clever stories. Some of my favorites were Marvin K Mooney Will You Please Go Now and If I Ran The Circus, but one of my most prized possessions as a kidwas A Great Day for Up! Not only is it a very inspiring story about getting up for the day, it was a gift to me from Dr Seuss himself. My grandmother was close friends with Dr Seuss' wife, Audrey and, when I was born, he inscribed the book to me. I held on to it well into my twenties until a natural disaster took it away.

With the popularity of e-reader apps for smartphones, it was only a matter of time for the beloved children's favorite, Dr Seuss, to pop upon the circuit. Having storybooks in your pocket is ideal instant entertainment, especially with kids. I have spent hours reading Green Eggs and Ham to my son. Having Dr Seuss stories should be a staple in any kid's library, and now the ability to simply download it to a handset will make it this much easier for parents to build a portable library of their own. I know I'll be building my own Dr Seuss pocket library just in time for the holidays.
