Soaking Up Some France

Being half French has its advantages, amongst things it allows me to fly to France on a whim to visit my relatives and have the most amazing home-cooked French food. Last weekend I decided to do exactly that. Having not seen my French clan since the summer holidays I felt it was about time that I made the effort and so booked a flight to leave early Saturday morning and return late Sunday evening.

I have always been very patriotic towards England, however, as soon as we touched down in the land of the French, I immediately felt at home, breathing in the fresh French air felt somewhat warming. The first stop was Géant Casino to stock up on French treats, next stop the patisserie, no-one makes a chocolate éclair quite like the French!

My journey was complete as soon as I’d had my first sip of Bugey Montagnieu fizzy white and had a nibble of saucisson, rillettes and bagette. I really can’t think of a better way to spend the weekend.

I also decided to have a social media free weekend, opting to leave my Facebook and Twitter accounts well and truly alone. Although I found it refreshing for the two days that I was away, by Monday morning I was definitely ready to tweet and update my Facebook status.

C'était un week-end incroyable, mais maintenant de retour à la réalité !
