Technology on holiday

Summer is finally here and that means holiday season.  I like to be organised so leading up to the holiday, I do a lot of research and I make a lot of lists.  I really don’t know what I’d do without the internet when it comes to scouting out the area where we are going.  From Google Maps to “What to do in Norfolk with kids”, I can plan my route and plan what to do when I get there in advance.

However, once on holiday I just want to shut down.  I don’t want to have to look things up online, I don’t want to check emails, I don’t even want to log in to Facebook or Twitter *gasp!*   My other half shares a different opinion; he likes to bring along the laptop in hopes of a wi-fi connection.   Even though I am hesitant to indulge in technology while on holiday, I have to admit that being able to search for local restaurants or for alternative things to do if the weather isn’t as ideal one would hope in summer is handy.  So this year, despite my reluctance, I will be taking technology on holiday.

Do you take technology on holiday or a holiday from technology?
