The Battle of Christmas

When George joined the Punch office just over a month ago I was anxious to welcome him into the team, it’s always an exciting time when someone new arrives and George was no different. However, as we have all got to know and like him, there is one side to George that is beginning to rattle me somewhat. In George I seem to have found my Christmas rival - we both have an enormous love and appreciation for all things Christmas.
Although some might see this as a positive thing, having someone to share the Christmas joy with, I unfortunately see it as an opportunity to have a festive battle. I have an innate need to prove my love for this time of the year over George’s, and amusingly, so does he.
In the first instance I have to admit to being beaten by George in the Christmas clothing round. With a different festive-themed cardigan or jumper on an almost daily basis, I simply cannot compete. Although he has given me some super winter-warmer tips, I can’t wait to see what George has up his sleeve – a red velvet coat with white fur trim maybe?
