The Pressures to be Green

I have been looking this week at the major balancing act that product manufacturers have to perform to ensure that they maintain competitive edge whilst keeping consumers happy and ensuring that their packaging is environmentally friendly.

 

Our client BoxMart, online suppliers of gift packaging, has witnessed massive growth in sales of ‘green’ products and it got me thinking, how much attention do we really pay to the environment friendliness of products?

 

A quick straw poll around our office found that if two similar products sat side by side and one looked more environmentally friendly than the other we would buy it. Product manufacturers are all too aware of this and are doing everything they can to ensure that products have an environment conscious appearance, which in turn makes us feel that we are ‘doing our bit’. Oh aren’t us consumers so easy to please – Do you know what, I think on that note I’m going to hit the shops!
