What a sociable year at Punch

As the year draws to an end and I consider my first year at Punch, one word springs to mind, and that’s social!  Not only have I made some great friends with the team, strengthened further by a Jaigerbomb-fuelled Christmas party last week, but I have also learnt a tremendous amount about social media.

Now every PR person has some inclination of the social space and we all recognise how important its integration is for the success of any PR campaign.  Thanks to our innovative, quirky and dare I say it ‘geek chic’ social media team at Punch, I have not only learnt a lot about the technicalities of social media but also the skills and processes for creating interesting and engaging content.

When it comes to my clients, not only is social media planning and execution a key part of our day-to-day tactics, but I also have some actual clients who are working and making serious waves on the platforms.

Take Bossa Studios, a disruptive team of veteran games who in September released, Monstermind – the first real-time multi-player social game to hit Facebook, already boasting an impressive 380,000 players.

Then there’s Shopcade, the first application on Facebook which actually allows people to shop and share products together, while earning real cash commissions.

And this week, Performance Horizon Group announced its innovative and revolutionary technology, ExactView which actually tracks social media to the point of sales.

So all in it’s been pretty social, in both senses of the word!
