Winning The #NoCV Campaign

As the winner of Punch’s recent #NoCV campaign, it has certainly been an exciting few months. Spending the last year and a half working in retail management but with a keen determination to break into the PR industry, the campaign provided me with the opportunity to demonstrate my skills.

The format of the #NoCV competition was simple; rather than wading through endless piles of CVs, Punch was on the lookout for applicants who could apply their skills in a real-world PR and social media agency situations. Faced with a brief for fictitious t-shirt brand, #teamgeek, entrants were tasked with creating a snapshot for a mini social media campaign, comprising a combination of posts across Facebook, Twitter and the #teamgeek blog. It was brilliant; I finally had the chance to show my passion for writing and PR.

Shortly after submitting my entry to the campaign came the interview (eek) and a day working in the Punch office. I went along confident and thrilled to be asked in - it was really rewarding to be able to spend some time with the team and get a feel for how Punch works day-to-day.

Two weeks in and I’m relishing being a part of the Punch team. I can already see how hard everyone works to make the company the great success that it is and I feel privileged to be a part of it.
